Clinical Supervision Services

Supervision May Include:  

  • Therapist self-assessment and professional goal development
  • Case consultation and treatment planning
  • Risk assessment and management
  • Ethical decision-making
  • Review of documentation (e.g., case notes)
  • Skill development (e.g., interventions, modalities, use of self)
  • Professional challenges
  • Professional identify and reflective practice (compassion fatigue, self-care, burnout, SEUS)
  • Supervisor observations of client sessions (in-person or tape), followed by detailed feedback on clinician strengths and areas for clinical improvement

In an increasingly complex field, clinical supervision is the cornerstone of ethical, reflective and effective mental health and addiction practice.  

 

At Skakoon Psychotherapy Services, we offer professional guidance that empowers therapists to deepen their clinical skills while maintaining self-care and professional integrity.  With specialized knowledge and skills training received in the area of clinical supervision, we provide professional services that support the development of clinician knowledge, skills, competence, and safe, effective use of self in the practice of psychotherapy. 

 

For supervisees registered as RP and RP (Qualifying), clinical supervision supports progression toward independent practice and fulfillment of requirements set by the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). 

 

We meet all CRPO requirements for Clinical Supervision.

Individual Supervision

A dedicated one-on-one space for focused clinical review. This service is tailored for Psychotherapists and Counselors seeking personalized mentorship on complex caseloads, countertransference issues, and professional identity development. Ideal for those working toward independent designation with CRPO or established clinicians prioritizing deep reflexive practice.

Dyadic Supervision

Collaborative learning for pairs of mental health and addiction professionals. Dyadic supervision offers a cost-effective yet intimate environment where clinicians can learn from one another's cases while receiving expert oversight. This format encourages peer feedback within a structured clinical framework, supporting professional growth through shared reflection.

Our supervision model is structured, relational and collaborative.  Utilizing an integrated model, we combine aspects of CBT, DBT, Psychodynamic, MI and SFBT into our model of clinical supervision.
